What is the list price of a new Pacmate Omni? I see the display (well refurbished, but factory recertified PacMate 20 cell) is going for $900 and the PacMate QX 400 for $1600, I thought together they did basically everything this device does and FS is selling it for $2500, so it strikes me like a $3000 price tag is crazy, not unless the Omni has some super powers.
I'd go with one of the Netbooks personally and a braille display, about the same size and weight, can be hooked up to a braille display and you got the same functionality for around $1500 ($900 for said display and actually only around $400 at the most for the netboo, but that's assuming you already have a version of Jaws.
The list price for the model of the omni which I'm selling is currently $3795. The lower prices you are seeing are for older models. The omni includes many features (especially with the latest firmware update) which make it far superior to previous models. The omni runs windows mobile 6. It also includes office mobile as opposed to the pocket versions of office products found in previous models. The email application has also been completely rewritten. The processor, battery, and internal storage capacity have also been updated. It’s now possible to type in grade two Braille in almost any application. These are just a few of the features which set the pacmate omni apart from previous models.
